Men’s Day
During the Men’s Day event at ACTOM Power Transformers, the focus was on raising awareness about alcohol misuse—a pressing issue that affects many individuals and families. The APT HR Manager, Kgomotso Mononyane, highlighted the importance of addressing this topic, emphasising that the event aimed to provide men with essential information about the risks and consequences of alcohol abuse.
Participants received insights into recognising the signs of alcohol misuse, including how it can impact not only personal health but also relationships and workplace dynamics. The program included discussions about the societal and psychological factors contributing to alcohol misuse, aiming to foster a greater understanding of why some men may struggle with these issues.
Furthermore, the event included resources and actionable steps for those seeking help. This meant providing information on local support groups, counselling services, and treatment programs tailored to men. Women’s Day
In conjunction with Men’s Day, APT celebrated Women’s Day with a heartfelt event honouring the invaluable contributions of women within the organisation and the broader community. Focusing on wellness and support, the celebration provided a platform for female employees to share their experiences and achievements, fostering unity and collaboration. Casual Day Celebration
The spirit of fun and camaraderie was alive during APT’s recent Casual Day. Organised by their team, this event provided a welcome break from daily routines while contributing to a good cause. APT purchased tickets directly from two extraordinary women—one in a wheelchair and the other using an electric scooter—ensuring they benefited directly from the funds raised.
This year’s theme encouraged participants to showcase their best selves, with a lively emphasis on bright colours. Attendees brought snacks and food that complemented their colourful outfits, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with laughter and joy. Photographs captured the essence of the day, showing team members proudly holding colourful trays that reflected their attire.
Reality Wellness Program
The Reality Wellness program, driven by ACTOM’s head office, is a cornerstone of their commitment to employee well-being. Implemented across all divisions, this initiative offers a variety of services to promote a balanced lifestyle. The program includes everything from blood pressure checks to advice on insurance and wills, emphasising the importance of mental, physical, and emotional health.
